Wedding Map (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an Australian wedding venue directory. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

By using Wedding Map (weddingmap.com.au), you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Venue submission forms: venue name, address, contact details, photos, and any other details you voluntarily submit.
  • Enquiries sent to us via email at hello@weddingmap.com.au.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data such as pages visited, time on page, and browser type, collected via standard server logs and analytics tools.
  • IP addresses, for security and fraud prevention purposes.

We do not require you to create an account and do not collect payment information.

2. How we use your information

  • To publish venue listings on Wedding Map after review.
  • To respond to your enquiries.
  • To improve the service, fix bugs, and understand how the site is used.
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Disclosure of your information

We may disclose your information to:

  • Service providers who help us operate the site, including Supabase (database and file storage, servers located in the United States) and Vercel (hosting). These providers are bound by data processing agreements.
  • Law enforcement or government bodies where required by Australian law.

Some of our service providers store data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle your information in accordance with the APPs.

4. Venue listing information

Venue profiles on Wedding Map may include information sourced from publicly available sources (websites, social media, business directories). If you are a venue owner and believe information about your venue is incorrect, or you wish to update or remove your listing, please contact us at hello@weddingmap.com.au.

By submitting a venue form, you warrant that you have authority to provide the information and grant Wedding Map a non-exclusive licence to publish it on the platform.

5. Cookies

We may use cookies and similar technologies to improve your experience. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site may not function correctly as a result.

6. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Access and correction

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to request corrections. To make a request, contact us at hello@weddingmap.com.au. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Complaints
